Non-probability Sampling

Non-probability Sampling

Nonprobability sampling techniques are involved in the collection of the data which cannot cover all the entire population. There is no chance of selecting all the samples of the population in nonprobability sampling, unlike probability sampling where there is a chance of selecting all the samples probability sampling does not allow to selection of any sample of the population.

Nonprobability sampling is implemented where it is difficult or impossible to implement the random sampling method. Following are the types of non-probability sampling implemented where it isn’t easy to collect the data randomly.

Convenience sampling

Sampling is a nonprobability sampling method in which the samples are collected Play stone haziness and proximity. These techniques allow researchers to collect the sample data easily but cannot cover the entire population or representative population. A study conducted easily but we cannot rely on the data collected by Canadian sampling as it cannot represent the whole population of this study.

Examples
  1. Many researchers survey the Street to collect the data by asking questions to people who are easily available on the street or the similar places. However, these samples or respondents cannot represent the entire population of the study. The convenience or the easiness of collecting the data are the factors considered while implementing the convenient sampling method.
  • To know the success prediction of newly launched products, some organization select their employees as sample respondents. Researchers ask or click the data through the opinion of the employees towards prediction of a newly launched product’s success. Here the data collected very conveniently and easily available for the organization but these responses cannot represent the entire population and can not give accurate results.
  • The online survey is the best example of convenience assembling where the researchers surveyed by using an online platform such as sending emails and sending the respondent’s feedback paul on social media platforms. Through this method, researchers can collect the data very easily but this data is limited to the respondents who have a habit of Internet. The user respondents who are not using social media or online platforms frequently may be excluded from the study which leads to unreliable land please accurate data.
  • The survey was conducted considering the respondents as friends and relatives which increases the canonials. Search data are readily available and easily collected by the researchers but they cannot cover the entire population or it cannot represent the population.

Quota sampling

Quota sampling can easily be understood by comparing this with market segmentation. In the segmentation of the market, various factors are considered demographic factors, Geographic factors, and psychographic factors. So different parameters of the factors are used to make a quota of population.

There is a small difference between the quota sampling and stratified sampling. Quota samplings can use convenience as a sampling method to collect the data within the quota. Whereas in Stuttbed sampling each data is a group of homogeneous data and researchers select a few samples from each data randomly.

Quota sampling is not involved in compulsory or necessarily selecting any samples from each quota randomly, instead, this quota sampling method involves selecting the respondents from the quota as per convenience.

Examples
  1. Many business organizations conduct the market so to be using the quota sampling technique which enables the organization to segment the market based on various factors such as demographic factors geographic factors psychographic factors. Using this number of segments the potential segments are selected for further execution first stop here and select the potential segments considering the profitability whereas researchers while collecting the data focus on canonials or he’s in this to collect the data.
  2. A consumer satisfaction survey was conducted to know the success of the newly launched product. In this survey organizations may segment or mix the quotas based on the factors such as income level or gender. You think this factors various quotas are made and conveniently collected the data.
  3. Based on the various income levels such as middle class category upper class category and lower class category push, Quota sampling is implemented by the organization. These three quarters or segments are used to know the preferences of these people toward buying a specific product. Data may be collected from the middle-class category of income level or lower-class category of the income available. This data is collected based on how conveniently it can be possible to collect. This is the reason why this method is not reliable and accurate how much are the stratified and random samplings?

Judgement sampling or purposive sampling

Jasmine sampling or the purpose of sampling is nonprobability sampling in which the researcher’s judgment or perception is considered the important factor. Based on his research judgment they select the samples of the respondents to get the necessary data for research.

Examples
  1. To know the effectiveness of the teaching methods implemented for the university the researchers may select the samples or participants Who is having experience in teaching and implementing the various inverted methods.
  2. While conducting fundamental research some researchers may select the respondents as scientists, or professional league sports in the area of fundamental research. Researchers are purposefully selecting this participant as the sample to get the necessary and important feedback from.. propose sampling methods have a specific purpose while selecting the respondents.
  3. Effectiveness of specific government policy determined by our research in which purpose your sampling used. In this type of research, the researchers purposefully select the samples or participants that belong to the policy. The purposefully selected participants of the samples provide the concern and exact information that belongs to the purpose of the study.
  1. Accidental sampling
  2. Snowball sampling
  3. Expert choice sampling
