Principles of Organizing

Principle of objective

This principle indicates the way the organizing is implemented towards achieving the common goal. Objectives of the organization direct every activity and function of management. Organizing is the function of management which is guided and directed by the objective of the company.

Organizing involved in division of work grouping of work delegation of authority and coordination of the work which is influenced by the objectives of the company. If the objectives of the company are well defined considering all the feasibility studies then the organizing can be more effective. When the organizing process is implemented properly it assists to achieve the objective of the company. It involves gathering and allocating the resources along with the responsibility and authority towards achieving the common goal.

Example

If an organization’s objective is to become the market leader that means having the largest part of the market. So all the functional areas such as production, marketing, and finance, execute the activities to achieve or capture the largest part of the market.

  • Production Management Department strives to produce more quantity of the product so that they can be sold to the largest part of the market.
  • Marketing management department styles strives to achieve the highest sales and write the largest part of the customers.
  • human resource management trials to strive to provide potential staff and sufficient staff who will contribute to achieving the required goal of all the functional areas of the company.

Principle of specialization and division of labor

Organization implements the division of labor which includes assigning the task or responsibilities according to the specialty of the employees. Distributed responsibilities along with the authorities according to the specialization helps to complete the assigned task easily and properly.

Specialization involved describing the required education qualification for a specific job on which the employees will be working. Whereas the division of labor involved assigning responsibilities based on the specialty of the employees so that the employees can complete assigned work according to the expected way and standard of the organization.

  • In marketing management and department various activities are involved such as marketing research advertising sales etc. The employees who are research experts are assigned activities or responsibilities belonging to marketing research. Principle of coordination

Principle of Co-Equal Authority and Responsibilities

What rights and powers are required to take decisions and use the resources to complete the assigned responsibilities is the authority. This authority should be given to complete the work or task assigned to the employees. Authorities and responsibilities play very important roles in completing the assigned task effectively and properly. Co-equal authority and responsibility mean there should be a balance between the authorities and responsibilities assigned to the employees, groups, and departments.

Authorities should be delegated according to the responsibilities assigned to the employee groups or departments. If the authorities assign to the employee’s group or department more than what responsibilities there leads to misuse of authority. If the responsibilities are more than the authorities assigned to complete those responsibilities then the employees cannot complete the responsibilities effectively and properly.

Principle of the span of control

Organizing function is influenced by how much control or span of control is held by the manager or group or department. If the span of control is wider the managers Get the reporting directly from a number of subordinates which enhances quicker communication. It enhances the wider scope of completing a variety of tasks and has control over all the horizontal organization.

The span of control can be divided into two parts. One is a narrow span of control and another is a wider span of control.

A narrow span of control gives less control and various bottlenecks in communication whereas a Wider span of control enhances the communication among a number of subordinates who directly reports to the manager.

Principle of continuity

Consistent growth and development of the business is an imperative necessity of any organization. If the organization consistently taking the right decisions regarding the expansion growth and any other decisions then organizing can successfully be implemented to achieve the expected goal.

Principle of teamwork

Organizing demands teamwork as it is involved in gathering the resources and allocating them among individuals, groups, and departments. Teamwork assists to implement the coordination and cooperation of all the departments groups and individual employees to achieve the common goal of the company.

Principle of efficiency

Efficiency belongs to the productivity of individuals groups and departments towards achieving the goal of the company we will stop. In this way, the productivity of H departments determines the achievement of their efforts which intends to contribute to achieving the common goal of the company. Coordination of all the efforts of these groups and departments contributes to Excellency in the execution of organizing.
